What are Promotional Products?
Promotional products are everyday items, like pens or tote bags, customized with a company’s name, advertising message, or logo. They are used to promote community events, spread the word at a trade-show, or simply put a smile on a customers face. If you’ve ever gone to the bank and grabbed a pen from the cup or taken a drawstring bag home from a 5K, you’ve held a promotional item in your hands. These company giveaways are part of our lives almost every day, even if we don’t realize it. When we reach into a drawer to grab a pen or pack a tote bag for a day at the beach, we often use a free giveaway item. In our facility in Dallas, Texas we often work on the following projects:
Custom Printed Pens
Custom Engraved Tumblers
Plastisol Screen Printing
The most popular ink used in the garment printing industry is Plastisol ink. Screen printing plastisol ink is easy to print, does not dry in the screen, is opaque on dark garments, and features great adhesion to most t-shirt, athletic jerseys, hoodies, heat transfers, and most textiles in general.
Water Based Screen Printing
Waterbased ink (water based screen printing) is a type of screen printing in which the pigment (color) is held in a thick liquid that is based on water, instead of a plastic based liquid like traditional, or plastisol, ink. It works great on white and lighter color shirts, but because it is not opaque, it does not work well on darker garments.
How Much do Promo Products Cost?Good question! Silk screening is a manufacturing process much like anything else. Every print job requires screen burning, ink mixing, and art set-up time - all before the shirts are even printed! Simply put - the more pieces you buy, the cheaper each print is. Take a look at this behind-the-scenes clip! Watch our experienced printers work on tee shirts pockets. Typically, we don't use a heatgun during the print process. However, this method achieves the best looking results with a two color pocket print.
